The Days

Two anchors, room to improvise

FRI 6Split welcome day

Morning: Kyle, Chet, and Tommy arrive on the early flight and have the day together before the 4pm house check-in. By car: Miller drives up from Hilton Head, about four hours. Late: Paul and Weber land around 11pm.

Open opportunity: early-crew activities, lunch, and the first-night welcome are unclaimed. Someone can take any piece without having to plan the whole day.
SAT 7Downtown night

Evening anchor: downtown Greenville for college football, dinner, and bar hopping. Kyle has Soby's reserved for 7:30pm. Miller owns the rest of the evening plan.

Open opportunity: Saturday morning and afternoon are intentionally unplanned. Step up with one idea or leave the time loose.
SUN 8Big hike + possible chef

Daytime anchor: pick one of the three hikes below - all about 45 minutes from the house and timed for peak fall color.

Table Rock Summit ~7 MI · 2,000+ FT · STRENUOUS

The signature Upstate climb - a real workout through Carrick Creek Falls and Governor's Rock to a huge summit view. The one we'll talk about after.

Raven Cliff Falls 4.4 MI · ~1,100 FT · MODERATE

Overlook of a 420-ft waterfall - the tallest in South Carolina - off Caesars Head. Shorter day; add the drive-up Caesars Head overlook for sunset on the way out.

Raven Cliff + Dismal Loop 8.1 MI · 2,100 FT · HARD

The full loop - crosses a suspension bridge directly above the falls. 4.6 stars across 2,000+ AllTrails reviews. Steep in places; the biggest day of the three.

Sunday dinner: possible in-home dinner with host-recommended chef Alison Beach. Availability still needs to be confirmed.

View Alison's sample menus
Open opportunity: someone can own the final hike selection and trail logistics. If the chef is unavailable, Sunday dinner is open too.
MON 9Out

Out of the house by 10am, straight to GSP for the 11:58am flight. Wheels down Newark 2:06pm - home for dinner.

Logistics

Getting there + around

Friday arrivals

Early flight: Kyle, Chet, and Tommy arrive in the morning. Late flight: Paul and Weber arrive around 11pm. Coordinate exact airport pickups in the group thread.

Miller's drive

Miller is driving up from Hilton Head, about four hours, and bringing a vehicle to the house.

Wheels on the ground

Miller's vehicle can cover the Sunday hike and supply runs. Use Ubers for Saturday downtown so nobody drives after drinking. Airport pickup details still need to be coordinated around the split arrivals.

Food

Groceries can be delivered Friday. Soby's is reserved for 7:30pm Saturday. Sunday night may be an in-home chef dinner, pending Alison Beach's availability.

Weather + packing

Days in the 60s, nights in the 40s. Hoodie, flannel, real hiking shoes for Sunday, trunks for the hot tub.
